I heard to my horror the other day that couples on a first date are going to Karaoke Bars! No wonder so many people complain that they don’t get a second date!

If you are serious about dating and let’s face it who isn’t then a Karaoke Bar as a venue for a first date is frankly mad.

A first date is supposed to be a time when you begin to get to know the person you rather like and has asked you or you have asked them out on a date.

Candlelit dinners are maybe a bit passé but at least you can hear yourselves talk in a Karaoke Bar all you will hear is several different versions of Elvis songs being strangled by people who probably can’t tell you Elvis’s surname.

So if a candlelit dinner in a nice restaurant is not your cup of Cappuccino then there are other places diners are nice and you can usually has a pleasant enough evening in one with a nice walk through the city. But believe it or not one of the best places to have a chat and an enjoyable time in my book at the moment is bowling and that is because you get to do a little exercise and in between actually bowling you can have little chats.

Little chats are handy because you tend never to run out of things to say and in between them you have plenty of time to think of what you will say next.

Then after the game you can have a snack and a drink in the bar without Karaoke happily. You should try it and let me know if it works for you, you never know you might even see me bowling I actually go once a week and love it.
